Note to the Community

Dear Students, Families, Staff, and Community Members,

Welcome to a new school year!

I am excited to welcome both returning and new members of our school community. This year, we proudly embrace our school theme: “Rise, Reach, Achieve…Challenge Accepted!” This theme reflects the mindset we want every student to develop—the courage to rise above obstacles, the determination to reach for ambitious goals, and the commitment to achieve their personal best. Most importantly, it reminds us that every challenge is an opportunity for growth.

Over the past several years, our students and staff have demonstrated tremendous academic growth. Through hard work, dedication, and a commitment to continuous improvement, we have established ourselves as one of the high-performing schools in North County San Diego. Our students continue to rise to high expectations, reach new levels of achievement, and demonstrate that success is possible when a community works together toward a common goal.

While academic excellence remains our top priority, we also believe in developing well-rounded students. Our students are given numerous opportunities to build leadership skills through student government, clubs, community service projects, and school-wide initiatives. We want our students to be confident leaders who are willing to step forward, take initiative, and accept challenges both inside and outside the classroom.

Our athletic programs continue to thrive as well. Through dedication, teamwork, and perseverance, our student-athletes have earned numerous league and championship titles. These accomplishments reflect what it means to rise above adversity, reach for excellence, and achieve success through hard work and commitment.

Equally important is our commitment to student safety. We strive to provide a safe, welcoming, and inclusive environment where every student feels valued, respected, and supported. Creating a positive school climate remains one of our highest priorities because students are best able to learn, grow, and achieve when they feel safe and connected.

As we begin this new school year, I encourage every student to embrace our theme: Rise, Reach, Achieve…Challenge Accepted! Challenge yourself to try something new. Challenge yourself to set ambitious goals. Challenge yourself to become a stronger student, athlete, leader, friend, and community member. Together, there is no limit to what we can accomplish.

Finally, on a lighter note, I would be remiss if I didn’t mention that my beloved Dodgers appear to be on their way to winning their third championship in a row! While I may wear Dodger blue with pride, I have come to appreciate the incredible passion and loyalty that Padres fans bring to our campus each day. Although we may disagree on baseball, we can all agree on one thing—we are united in our commitment to helping our students succeed.

 Estimados estudiantes, familias, personal y miembros de la comunidad:

¡Bienvenidos a un nuevo año escolar!

Me complace dar la bienvenida tanto a los miembros que regresan como a quienes se unen por primera vez a nuestra comunidad escolar. Este año, adoptamos con orgullo nuestro tema escolar: “Elevarse, Alcanzar, Lograr… ¡Reto Aceptado!” Este tema refleja la mentalidad que deseamos desarrollar en cada estudiante: el valor para superar los obstáculos, la determinación para alcanzar metas ambiciosas y el compromiso de lograr su máximo potencial. Lo más importante es que nos recuerda que cada desafío es una oportunidad para crecer.

Durante los últimos años, nuestros estudiantes y miembros del personal han demostrado un enorme crecimiento académico. Gracias al trabajo arduo, la dedicación y el compromiso con la mejora continua, nos hemos consolidado como una de las escuelas de alto rendimiento en el norte del condado de San Diego. Nuestros estudiantes continúan elevándose para cumplir altas expectativas, alcanzando nuevos niveles de logro y demostrando que el éxito es posible cuando una comunidad trabaja unida hacia una meta común.

Aunque la excelencia académica sigue siendo nuestra máxima prioridad, también creemos en el desarrollo integral de nuestros estudiantes. Nuestros alumnos cuentan con numerosas oportunidades para fortalecer sus habilidades de liderazgo a través del gobierno estudiantil, clubes, proyectos de servicio comunitario e iniciativas escolares. Queremos que nuestros estudiantes sean líderes seguros de sí mismos, dispuestos a dar un paso al frente, tomar la iniciativa y aceptar desafíos tanto dentro como fuera del salón de clases.

Nuestros programas deportivos también continúan destacándose. Gracias a la dedicación, el trabajo en equipo y la perseverancia, nuestros estudiantes-atletas han obtenido numerosos campeonatos y títulos de liga. Estos logros reflejan lo que significa superar la adversidad, aspirar a la excelencia y alcanzar el éxito mediante el esfuerzo y el compromiso.

Igualmente importante es nuestro compromiso con la seguridad estudiantil. Nos esforzamos por brindar un ambiente seguro, acogedor e inclusivo donde cada estudiante se sienta valorado, respetado y apoyado. Mantener un clima escolar positivo sigue siendo una de nuestras principales prioridades, ya que los estudiantes aprenden, crecen y tienen éxito cuando se sienten seguros y conectados con su escuela.

Al comenzar este nuevo año escolar, animo a cada estudiante a adoptar nuestro tema: “Elevarse, Alcanzar, Lograr… ¡Reto Aceptado!” Desafíate a probar algo nuevo. Desafíate a establecer metas ambiciosas. Desafíate a convertirte en un mejor estudiante, atleta, líder, amigo y miembro de la comunidad. Juntos, no hay límites para lo que podemos lograr.

Por último, y en un tono más ligero, no estaría siendo completamente honesto si no mencionara que mis queridos Dodgers parecen estar en camino de ganar su tercer campeonato consecutivo. Aunque llevo con orgullo el azul de los Dodgers, también he aprendido a apreciar la increíble pasión y lealtad que los aficionados de los Padres aportan a nuestro campus todos los días. Aunque podamos tener opiniones diferentes sobre el béisbol, todos estamos de acuerdo en algo: estamos unidos en nuestro compromiso de ayudar a nuestros estudiantes a tener éxito.

Gracias por su continuo apoyo y colaboración. Espero con entusiasmo un año extraordinario lleno de crecimiento, logros y oportunidades para elevarnos, alcanzar nuestras metas y triunfar juntos.
