Potter Jr. High was filled with pride and celebration on the evening of Monday, May 19th, as families, students, and staff gathered to honor the academic achievements of our incredible Braves. The auditorium buzzed with joy as we recognized the dedication, excellence, and growth of our student body.
The evening celebration showcased the exceptional accomplishments of our students, from consistent academic excellence to remarkable bilingual achievements. We extend heartfelt thanks to all parents and guardians—your ongoing support continues to be the backbone of our students’ success.
Each year, Potter Jr. High recognizes two students who truly exemplify what it means to be a Brave. These Students of the Year are selected by our staff for their leadership, character, academic excellence, and positive impact on campus.

A special congratulations to our 8th grade scholars who have achieved a perfect 4.0 GPA throughout their two years at Potter! Your unwavering dedication and pursuit of excellence set a powerful example for your peers. We are excited to watch you continue to shine in high school and beyond.
For the first time in Potter’s history, we proudly awarded the Dual Language Students of the Year to Austin and Itzel, two outstanding bilingual scholars who have demonstrated excellence in both English and Spanish. Their achievements reflect the strength and success of our Dual Language Program.
The celebration also honored all Dual Language students for their commitment to becoming bilingual and biliterate—many of whom began their journey in kindergarten at Maie Ellis Elementary. This year, several scholars successfully completed Phase 2 of the Seal of Biliteracy, marking a major milestone in linguistic achievement.
In addition to academic and bilingual recognition, we proudly celebrated 11 students who began their education as Spanish learners and have now been reclassified as proficient in English. Their perseverance and progress highlight the inclusive and empowering environment fostered at Potter.

El lunes por la noche, 19 de mayo, Potter Jr. High se llenó de orgullo y emoción mientras familias, estudiantes y personal se reunieron para honrar los logros académicos de nuestros increíbles Braves. El auditorio estaba lleno de alegría mientras reconocíamos la dedicación, el esfuerzo y el crecimiento de nuestros estudiantes.
Queremos agradecer sinceramente a todos los padres y tutores—su apoyo constante es fundamental para el éxito de nuestros estudiantes. Su presencia hizo que la noche fuera aún más especial.
Cada año, el personal de Potter Jr. High tiene el honor de seleccionar a dos estudiantes excepcionales como Estudiantes del Año. Su logro refleja la fuerza y el éxito de nuestro programa de doble inmersión.
La celebración también rindió homenaje a todos nuestros estudiantes del programa por su dedicación a convertirse en personas bilingües y bialfabetas—muchos de ellos comenzaron su trayecto en kínder en Maie Ellis Elementary. Este año, varios estudiantes completaron con éxito la Fase 2 del Sello de Bialfabetización, marcando un gran logro en su camino hacia la excelencia lingüística.
Además, celebramos con orgullo a 11 estudiantes que comenzaron su educación como aprendices del idioma español y ahora han sido reclasificados como competentes en inglés. Su perseverancia y progreso resaltan el entorno inclusivo y alentador que promovemos en Potter.
