Principal's Message

Dear Potter Families,

I am glad you are using our web page. I want to use this space to introduce myself. I have been working in education since 1997. I have taught every grade level from 7th through 12th focusing on both Language Arts and Social Sciences. Through the years, I have had the opportunity to be an honors teacher and an intervention teacher, the yearbook advisor, the ASB advisor, and the GATE coordinator. I then worked as an educational technology integration specialist, training and supporting teachers in the use of technology in the classroom. I have seen children from various backgrounds and with varying experience levels grow and prosper. The energy of advancement and the excitement of what the future holds for our youth is my career motivation.
Before coming to Potter Junior High School, I was the Assistant Principal at San Onofre School, also in the Fallbrook Union Elementary School District. San Onofre School is a kindergarten through eighth grade campus located on Marine Corps Base Camp Pendleton. While there, we advanced our students’ technological proficiency, maintained a core focus on academics, and developed leadership skills through the seven habits. I plan to continue a focus on these areas as our core values while also developing some signature practices at Potter. I look forward to a wonderful year of growth and learning opportunities with Potter’s Braves.

I have three focused goals for Potter. First is to expand upon the already stellar teaching practices in order to increase student engagement and access to higher order learning skills for students. All students will receive binders this year and use Leadership time to organize them. Second is to further develop the use of educational technology in the classrooms and at home. Third is to provide more leadership opportunities to the students through our existing Leader in Me program. We use this program to instill the 7 Habits of Highly Effective Teens; the goal of which is to create more opportunities for teens to connect with school and develop traits of responsibility. I appreciate any support you can provide from the home front and look forward to developing lasting relationships with you and your students.

Thank you,
Mr. Frost
